The Garrison Walk, at the top of Hugh Town, has been names the UK's Top Coastal Walk by The Times! (Jan 30, 2010)
The Times (Jan 23, 2010) has named St. Agnes the Most Dramatic isle of the UK: "From shore to shore, treasures to explore: tiny, remote and each quite unique: some of the world's most dramatic isles lie just off the coast of Great Britain. St Agnes: The southernmost island of the British Isles is a tiny, flat speck just a mile across, home to 72 people and their sheltered daffodil farms. The indented coastline, the coves of pale pebbles, the turquoise, gin-clear water where yachts moor, a sand bar across which you can wade to neighbouring Gugh, a lighthouse: this tiniest of the five inhabited Isles of Scilly is like the setting of a child's bedtime story. The wind from the Atlantic may blow the froth off your ginger beer but otherwise it's the epitome of Blytonesque innocence. "
The Isles of Scilly, a unique archipelago of Islands off the SW top of England, has been named as one of Frommer's Top Destinations 2010. The Isles of Scilly were the only UK destination to be honoured by Frommer's this year.
Frommer's has said: "As in years past, they represent a mix of emerging spots, under-appreciated cities, and places we think you need to experience before they're overrun by tourist crowds. While authors and editors again contributed their suggestions, this year we reached out for some additional advice: During October and November readers from around the world nominated their favorites and then voted for this year's inaugural Reader Favorite. The one element that connects all of these? We can't wait to go."
