If you are looking for an adrenaline kick, centres on two Islands offer courses and lessons in windsurfing, sailing, diving and rock-climbing, for all ages and abilities. Launch a kayak or dinghy from the Islands' beaches, or hire windsurfing or sailing kit from one of the bases. Snorkelers and divers can plunge into the aquamarine depths to explore forests of kelp, colourful sea life, and a myriad of shipwrecks scattered across the ocean floor. You may snorkel with seals and watch fish of all shapes and sizes dart through Scilly's spectacular underwater kingdom, or enjoy a trip on a rib around some of the outer Isles, to see the best of the marine life from on the water.

Windsurfing in Tresco Channel It is easy to think that the islands were created for windsurfing and kitesurfing with the heady mixture of shallow flats, waves, sunshine and ocean breezes. No matter which way the wind is blowing you can find a beach somewhere in the islands to give perfect cross-onshore conditions.

You can bring your own kit on the ferry or you can hire during the summer from the Sailing Centre on St.Mary's who also operate a base on Tresco during July and August. So come on over, get kitted up and take off!

Windsurfing, sailing and kayaking equipment may be hired from the Sailing Centre on Porthmellon Beach, St.Mary's and from Raven's Porth on Tresco (near the Island Hotel), during July and August.

You can hire small motor and sailing boats and kayaks from Bennett boatyard based on Bryher. We also hire from Tresco and St. Martin's, and can base hire around tripper boat times if you are staying on another island. Advance booking is encouraged in the peak of the season and this experience is perfect for exploring the clear and tranquil water.
